We must have a new good luck charm here on The Ohana because the past few days have had phenomenal sightings and today did not dissapoint! This morning, we headed out West to find a mixed pod of about 25 (rarely seen) Risso’s Dolphins and 5 Common Dolphins. We took our time approaching them in order to get them more comfortable with our boat, and it paid off. After about ten minutes, we had the Risso’s swimming right up to the bow of our boat to calmly swim along side. The beautiful rhythmic breathing patterns of these Dolphins allowed us to cruise with them for a while, getting some great looks both under the water and above. There were clumps of several dolphins surfacing together at all times, making it such a special sighting of these rarely seen species. Come join us tomorrow and see what we can find!
