Our Marine Mammals of Monday included…Offshore Bottlenose Dolphins!! We were lucky enough to start our morning trip off with a handful of feeding Common Dolphins before entering deeper water. On our way up the coast, we spotted a pod of Offshore Bottlenose Dolphins! This would be our second sighting of this population so far this year. This pod included a few juveniles, some elderly appearing individuals and a young calf that was still equipped with fetal folds! The Bottlenose came right up to the boat, bow-rode and displayed multiple instances of courtship behavior. It was hard to leave this group behind!

On our way in for the day, we found a second pod of Common Dolphins, some of which raced with the boat or took a pit-stop for lunch. We still have some spots available for our trip tomorrow..come out and help us find more dolphins and some baleen!
