It was a perfect day to end the weekend on the water. The conditions were in our favor and we encountered TWO different toothed whale species. Soon after exiting the Mission Bay channel, our crew spotted a feeding frenzy of ~40 scattered Pacific White-Sided Dolphins, California Sea Lions and sea birds! Although the hunting activity dissipated quickly by the time we reached the wildlife, the dolphins were eager to bow-ride in our pressure wave! Further out to the west, a pod of ~150 Common Dolphins showed us their energetic sides as they heavily interacted with our boat. Dozens of calves and pregnant females were spotted within the pod! We did not see any signs of Gray Whales this morning but we did get a report of a handle of southbounders on the way to San Diego! Join us this week to look out for them with our crew.
