While you were searching for eggs, we were searching for wildlife! We had three great trips! During the morning trip, we set out to the SW and made it 15-miles from Mission Bay! We sighted a couple tall, columnar spouts on the horizon. We caught up with a Fin whale! We got great looks as it popped up all around the boat. We noticed that we sighted the same individual yesterday in the same area. During our second trip, we sighted a pod of ~100 Long-beaked Common dolphins headed south. We cruised to 13-miles from Mission bay and found a different Fin whale! During the sunset trip, we sighted the most dolphins of the day. We had two big pods of Long-beaked Common dolphins. The first one was a smaller pod of ~100 individuals that had a lot of cow/calf pairs. We got to the drop-off and found another larger pod of ~300 Long-beaked Common dolphins. They were headed to the south with birds following them. They seemed to stop for quick feeding bouts. We got a quick glimpse of the sunset beneath thick clouds.
