A gorgeous day through and through! We had calm seas and beautiful skies from start to finish and ENDLESS dolphins!
On our first trip out to the pacific today is was overcast but the seas were glassy and spotting conditions were spectacular! We were the only boat in San Diego to spot a whale today! We found a pair of Minke whales! They were pretty friendly and even mugged our boat twice! The rest of the day we hung out with a bunch of dolphins! We had both log beaked and short beaked pods today but we also had some extra special Risso’s visitors! Because of their light coloration and unique patterning – when they swim in groups just under the surface it looks like a pack of friendly ghosts. We’re always delighted with this rare sighting as we only see them 15-20 times per year!

We’ve got more calm seas and beautiful weather forecasted for the foreseeable future! Get out here while the gettin is good!
