The Humpbacks are still rolling through San Diego!
We set out to the west on our afternoon trip and spotted a small pod of 3 Offshore bottlenose dolphins! They were headed west but we managed to get some good looks as they popped up around our boat. We noticed one dolphin had an injury on its back. We continued to the north along the drop-off and once we got off of La Jolla we started to see a bunch of birds feeding. We scanned the area and finally spotted a huge spout! A humpback whale popped up for 4-5 breaths and went down for 12 to 18-min dives. We got great views at its tail which also looked like it had a piece missing from the center of its tail.
