Gray skies, gray seas, and gray whales! It was a wet one out there today on the Pacific. Our morning trip set out to find wildlife and stumbled across 2 northbound gray whales right out of the jetties! They were kind of shy but we stayed as long as we could. We pushed to the south and found about 30 offshore bottlenose dolphins! There were a couple babies in the group! Our afternoon trip set out to the west and found a group of about 10 offshore bottlenose dolphins. There was a baby in the mix that still had it’s fetal folds! We pushed further west to the 9 mile bank and found a cow calf pair of fin whales! The baby was so cute and mom was really large! We stuck around for a while, as they were not diving much. We got some really good looks at them before having to head back to Mission Bay.
Stay dry out there!
