Oh, what a SWELL time! We were rocking and rolling out there today on the Privateer! Ocean conditions improved as we travelled out further west. The ocean water was crystal clear and blue! During the morning trip, we found several scattered pods of ~100 short-beaked common dolphins. Then, on our way back to Quivera Basin we found another pod of ~200 long-beaked common dolphins.

During our afternoon trip, we travelled out west and headed up north closer to La Jolla. We found a massive pod of ~300 long-beaked common dolphins. They were super active on the surface of the water, leaping out of the water and creating massive splashes. We also saw lots of them bow-riding and surfing our wake. Looking forward to another epic week of whale watching!
