We had a plethora of different life in our oceans today! We had TONs of grey whales on our first trip but they were swimming super under the radar for the most part so we left them to continue on their great migration! Our afternoon trip was packed full of multiple different dolphin species !We spent some time with a pod of goofy pacific white sided dolphins, stampeding common dolphins and even some coastal bottlenose dolphins right inside the jetties!
We’re not done yet, stay tuned for sunset!
Our sunset trip was absolutely magical! We headed southwest towards Point Loma and encountered our Grey whale friend, “Junior”! We hung out with Junior for multiple breath cycles. Junior has been sighted various times throughout this Grey whale season. They were previously hanging out in the kelp forest near La Jolla. Today, we found them near the kelp forest just off of Point Loma. We also encountered ~5 inshore bottlenose dolphins. The cherry on top was the beautiful sunset we enjoyed on our way back to shore!
Always a fun time on the Privateer! Wouldn’t want you to miss out on Grey whale season, now is the best time to come out!
