Saw Hundreds of Dolphins! San Diego Long-Beaked Common Dolphin Tour

We were rockin’ and rollin’ on the Pacific with Common dolphins galore! We pushed through the waves to the west. After reaching the drop-off we sighted some splashes that weren’t white caps! We found a huge spread out pod of Long-beaked Common dolphins! They were everywhere we looked and totally surrounded us! They all seemed to be on a mission headed to the west, northwest. We kept moving to deeper water and made it to 12-miles from shore, in ~2000 feet of water! We couldn’t go any further so flipped it around and enjoyed the smooth seas on our way back in. Along the way, we spotted more Commons to include a dense pod of ~50 Short-beaked Common dolphins that were very playful! We sighted the tiniest calf in the mix! The visibility was beautiful as we could see down to Tijuana, MX and up to Del Mar, CA.

Hope to sea you tomorrow! We have two trips ready to head out and find whales and dolphins! Book our next trip!
