Experience the thrill of Humpback and Fin Whale Watching on the Ohana!
It was Sunday Funday on the Ohana! We had such a lovely morning trip today! Beautiful sea conditons with sunny skies and glassy water. We headed out west towards the drop-off and encountered a scattered pod of ~200 long-beaked common dolphins. Shortly after we found 2 humpback whales! We were able to hang out with them for several breath cycles. They were being a little shy today! However, we still got some wonderful looks of their backs and flukes! We were then blessed with a unexcpected treat of sighting two more humpback whales within 3 miles from the coast! Please stay tuned for updates from our sunset trip!
We had an amazing Sunset trip as well! We set out and encountered some large rolling waves! We sighted scattered pods of Long-Beaked Common dolphins everywhere we went! Many of them cruised up to the bow and our wake to surf. We got out to the drop-off and spotted a big puffy spout that belonged to a Humpback! While waiting for it to surface, we sighted two more spouts further from us. One of those was a Fin whale! We watched it travel to the north. The visibility was so good we could see to San Clemente, which is about 60-miles from us! The sunset was breathtaking! We enjoyed rosy pink skies with Common dolphins racing toward us on our way home! Couldn’t have asked for a better trip!
