Today, the seas were beautifully calm and the skies were blanketed with fog which made for a gloomy Wednesday. Luckily, for us on the Privateer, the weather did not reflect the luck that we had finding marine life. The morning trip saw one of the biggest pods of Pacific White Sided Dolphins we’ve seen all year (about 25) along with an elusive Fin Whale that dissapeared into the fog after going down on a deep dive. The afternoon got a much better look at that Fin Whale along with a sprinkling of Common Dolphins throughout the trip. Both trips saw the same three species of marine mammals for the day: Pacific White Sided Dolphin, Common Dolphin, and Fin Whales. All in all, today was filled with a constant stream of wildlife and we can’t wait to see what’s in store for tomorrow.
