Super Cetacean Sunday is here once again! We had an awesome time on the water! The Pacific was alive and wild! During the morning trip, we set out to deeper water, and traveled to the North. We got super lucky and found a Humpback whale. We observed a few breaths, right before going down for a deeper dive. While waiting for it to surface, we had the best surprise we could ever want. The humpback whale BREACHED near our vessel! We totally did not expect such an amazing sight. We observed more spouts, and then waited for it surface, and it breached for a second and final time! Humpbacks are very acrobatic, and energetic whales and we got lucky to see such an awesome behavior. We searched for more wildlife as we head south, but none were sighted.

During the afternoon cruise, we set out to the drop-off, hoping we would get lucky again. We searched along the continental shelf to the north. Far in the distance, we sighted a large pod of ~300 Common dolphins! Many were observed in feeding mode. Lots of birds were seen diving in the water, foraging on fish. While enjoying the Common dolphin action, a Humpback whale surfaced right behind us, in close proximity! We found a different Humpback individual than in the AM. We observed it surface for breaths and the rolling of the back. On almost every sounding dive, flukes were lifted! Couldn’t have asked for a better day!

Trash/Recyclables: ZERO!

Two different Humpback individuals are in the area…come out and see if you can find them with us!
